Carina Leagues Club commenced from humble beginnings in October 1970 in the lower ground floor section of Chadwick Hall. Trading was under a Sporting Licence which permitted the sale of alcohol only while sport was being played.

The Club was granted a Liquor Licence on the 22nd October 1971 and was the first club in Queensland granted trading hours from 10:00am to 11:00pm.

Since this time, strong patronage and support has seen the Club continue to grow and improve facilities. Since the introduction of Poker Machines in April 1992, the Club has trebled in size. This has delivered more modern facilities including a dedicated Gaming Area, Kitchen and Bistro, Members Area, Function Rooms, Childrens Playroom, Internet Room and a Sportsmans Bar with Club TAB, Sportsbet, Keno, Pool Tables and a Darts Room and an Outdoor Courtyard. The Club also boasts a large, landscaped carpark with full lighting and plenty of room.

As the Club continues to grow we hope to add more and more great facilities for you, our Members. Carina Leagues Club is a community Club and a few of the many objectives in our charter for which the Club was established are:

  • provide for Members and Members’ Guests a Club with the usual facilities;
  • provide foster support and encourage the aims and objectives of Carina Junior Rugby League Football Club and all matters pertaining thereto; and
  • to assist by financial, or by other means, any or all organisations which are devoted to fostering youth welfare facilities for youngsters and underprivileged and handicapped children, relieving poverty and hardship and preventing juvenile delinquency.

The goal of our Club is to prosper as a major Social Club in South East Brisbane. We will service our Members and associated Clubs by providing a safe and friendly environment for Members, Staff and the community. We will also excel in food, beverages, entertainment, gaming and the development of local junior sport while promoting Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Service of Gaming.

Carina Leagues Club contributes monthly to the Gambling Community Benefit Fund and the Sport and Recreation Fund. Our contributions for the year ended 30th June 2009 was in excess of $830,000.  This contribution has assisted our Junior Football Club, various schools, sporting organisations, community funds and individuals via a variety of means from the donation of money, goods or equipment through to free use of our facilities.  With your support we can continue to deliver on the promise to our members and our community.
